What are the most common plumbing problems?

The most common plumbing problems that homeowners and businesses often encounter include:

1. Dripping Faucets: A constant drip can be more than just annoying; it can lead to significant water waste and increased utility bills.

2. Leaky Pipes: Often occurring during colder months, leaky pipes can cause water damage and require urgent attention.

3. Running Toilets: A toilet that runs continuously can waste a large amount of water, often due to issues with the flapper valve or fill tank.

4. Clogged Drains: Whether in the sink, bathtub, or toilet, clogs are common and can be caused by a build-up of hair, soap, and other debris.

5. Low Water Pressure: This can be frustrating and may be due to pipe corrosion, hidden leaks, or clogged aerators in faucets.

6. Leaking Hose Bibb: Common in spring and summer, this issue is often caused by an outdoor spigot that wasn't properly winterized.

7. Slow or Clogged Drains: These are often caused by a build-up of debris and can lead to more serious blockages if not addressed.

8. Sump Pump Failure: Especially problematic in areas with high groundwater levels or during heavy rain, a failing sump pump can lead to flooding and water damage.

9. Water Heater Issues: Problems with water heaters can include no hot water, leaks, or noises coming from the heater due to sediment build-up.

10. Jammed Garbage Disposal: Often caused by putting inappropriate items down the disposal or not using enough water while it's running.

These issues range from minor annoyances to more serious problems that can cause significant damage if not addressed promptly. Regular maintenance and immediate attention to any signs of trouble can help prevent more severe complications.

Do I need to be present when your team is working?

Yes, in most cases, we do want someone available for service calls.

How often does my water heater need flushed?

Flush your water heater every six months or so. If you have harder water, or water that contains more minerals, you may want to flush it more often. If you leave town, change your water heater to its vacation setting. The pilot light will stay on, but the water will not be heated.
